Centras Venture Fund presents its start-up projects to President Nazarbayev
Almaty, Kazakhstan – January 7, 2009: Centras Venture Funds presented its new start-up technology projects to President Nazarbayev on the Kazakhstan’s Science & Innovations Summit on January 5. The Summit was organized by the National Innovation Fund. President Nazarbayev and Prime Minister Massimov took part in the Summit and hold roundtables on developments of country’s innovation projects.
Centras Venture Fund presented its three projects: a new power cylinder windmill, a new power-driven heat generator and Nomad-Bike (www.nomad-bike.kz). The projects received warm support from country’s officials. President Nazarbayev, a former steel engineer, showed his personal interest in the developments. The Government of Kazakhstan stated a high priority for country’s strategic move to industrialization and modernization of its economy. Innovation projects are designed to lead to upgrade of existing production and diversification of its natural resources-based economy.

The Fund partners with leading research institutes of Kazakhstan in the development and commercialization of research work results. Centras Venture Fund has invested into eight start-up projects in alternative energy, mineral processing and consumer.
